Substation civils
Maveric delivered a substation civils package covering site establishment, contaminated-soil removal, structural concrete, transformer bases, plinths and blast walls. The works were integrated with the electrical contractor’s programme through winter conditions.

The challenge
The civils package had to be integrated with the electrical contractor’s programme through winter, when sub-zero temperatures fell outside the compliant range for concrete placement and curing.
Delivery
Maveric enclosed the work areas in industrial heated tents to create a compliant environment for concrete placement and curing. Formwork, reinforcement and concrete works were self-delivered, while heavy lifts were sequenced against the electrical contractor’s programme.
Safety & quality
Heated protection maintained compliant curing conditions in sub-zero temperatures. Steelwork, upstands and plinths were set, finished and inspected before subsequent works. Supporting ITP and inspection records remain TO CONFIRM for publication.
